I've really enjoyed this sketchbook over the last few months. I've been using it for line drawings and Zentangles as the thickness and smoothness of the paper lends itself nicely to that task. I love the cover material much more than a traditional leather or paper cover, it's sturdy and wipes off easily. The sheets are thick enough, but a bit thicker like 165gsm would be nice too.
I took an art class in college a long time ago and loved it. Now, I am 50 and want to start playing around with art again. I was looking for a smaller sketchbook. It's perfect! The softcover is quite flexible and durable, not to mention attractive. I find I don't mind that it's not a hardcover. This is comfortable to sketch in, and portable enough to take with me on travels. The best part is the quality of the paper! Just wow! Great value!
Have been using this sketchbook for 7 months now. As an artist, I go through lots and lots of journals- paint in them, sketch, glue photos, etc. This journal is so so durable and great for the price, protects all my pages and the quality of paper is great...will be purchasing again :)

Frequently Asked Questions
Good question! Our sketchbooks are designed by artists for artists. Each sketchbook is meticulously handcrafted using recyclable materials, folded, hand-stitched, and glued together to form a hard-wearing notebook with a scratch-resistant wipeable cover and 180° lay-flat spine that stays open so you can work at ease. You can customize the cover and inner end-pages using acrylic paint or markers. The stylish design with the edge printing is very attractive and can be used as is or colored with your watercolors to create a unique pattern. There's a maximum possibility to express yourself with this neutral stylish design.
Our smooth 120 gsm acid-free paper is of archival quality and can withstand lots of sketching, erasing, sticking and re-attaching with sellotape or washi tape. Each sketchbook has 160 pages or 80 sheets of blank light ivory paper that is kind to your eyes, and won't reflect light to your eyes in the way ordinary white paper might.
Acid-free means that the pH level of the paper is 7.0 (neutral) or higher (alkaline). In general, acid-free papers are expected to last for decades under normal storage conditions. Don't worry; it's still biodegradable.
Our sketchbooks are encased in a durable engineered leather cover that is scratch-resistant, protecting your work from elements. You can easily customize the cover using acrylic paint or markers and make it truly your own.
It depends on your needs. If you plan on bringing the sketchbook around, while travelling, during the daily commute or to capture urban scenes on the go then opt for a B6 (5x7 inches) that you can easily fit in your purse. If you intend to work on a table at home or in your studio where you can sketch with your sketchbook laid flat, or if you tend to create bigger artwork, then we recommend you get a B5 (7x10 inches).
However, most of our customers find B5 very compact and ‘just right' size for carrying it around, too.
Our sketchbooks are perfect for sketching, art journaling and keeping your creative ideas & notes! The acid-free paper is durable enough for light watercolours, ink, markers, glue and sticky tapes for collages, rough erasing and shading. Your options are endless. I've bought several of these to use for mixed-media (collage, paint, journaling, markers, ink pens) and the paper is fantastic and the book is nicely bound and holds up really well. Love this sketchbook!

My sketchbook came and I am always checking for thicker weight paper. This is not it. Keep in mind this is not a book for watercolors, but gouache is okay just use light washes (paper will buckle). As with most sketchbook alcohol markers will bleed through pages. The pages are an off white color, color pencils, alcohol markers, multi-liners are look well on the paper. I cannot say that this is truly a lay flat book, but the pages does lay flatter than most books.
super service ! Incroyable qualit du papier. Trs content du service aprs vente !
The pages are smooth and good for a variety of media. It really does bring zen to my artwork.
This is my favorite journal. It handles 95% of what I use in it. Very little bleeding. I do wish they made an A5 size. This is a little large and the 5”x7” is s little small. But the paper is heavenly.
The design of this sketchbook is lovely - I love the spot design on the edge of the pages and that it has two ribbon page markers and an elastic loop to keep it closed. The B5 size is really great - not too big so it’s good for taking out and about but plenty of space to draw and paint and 160 pages!! The pages are really smooth which is great for using brush pens and won’t cause damage to my pen nibs! The pages are also a good thickness so most pens don’t bleed through, though you can see the colour a little bit on the other side but this doesn’t bother me for a sketchbook. The pages are good for watercolour but only really for light washes, as they have stated - too much water can cause the paper to buckle but I found it be good for watercolour lettering (see images). Would also work really well for creating colour swatch sheets. Great quality sketchbook and great value!
great feeling paper, ink does not bleed, i love the feel of the outside cover, and great cover design :)
This is my second time buying this sketchbook. It's a great, durable product... great value for the money! 10/10
When I first opened the packaging, I found the leather to be high quality, and the sketchbook itself very aesthetically pleasing. It’s the perfect size for sketching at your desk or on the go and also lays completely flat with nice invisible binding with the added plus of no ring binder in the middle to bother your hands when painting. The paper itself is on the thinner side, so can only handle light washes of colour as the description states, the paper warped quite quickly when water was applied but surprisingly I found the paper to flatten almost completely once the paper was dry. The ivory colour of paper dulls watercolours down slightly, but is perfect for thumbnails and colour ideas. Watercolours themselves on this paper are smooth and do not bleed past the water line, the watercolours do not travel on this paper but you can still create nice feathering effects easily. The paper handles other mediums really nicely, including drawing ink which doesn’t bleed at all when used with an ink and nib, and creates a nice texture when used with a paintbrush. Pencil sketches extremely smoothly and doesn’t smudge at all when you move your hand over the paper or close the sketchbook over time, which I think is wonderful. I also found that you can erase Over and over again without the paper bobbling or ripping and even when putting a medium like watercolour over the top of an erased area doesn’t effect the high quality of the paper. It also handles layers of gouache easily and dries flat even after the initial warping in the beginning. The only medium this paper didn’t work with was alcohol markers in which they bled through the other side of the paper almost immediately, and soaked up a lot of the ink out of the pen as this paper is extremely absorbent, so I wouldn’t recommend this to people who use them regularly. Overall the quality of this sketchbook is amazing, the price is very cheap for the value of pages and quality of paper you’re receiving. I find myself picking this up regularly for varied things including notes and ideas, colour swatching, thumb nailing and general sketching and painting. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a sketchbook they can enjoy fully without paying the premium price you usually would have to pay for the quality. Other than the slight downside of it only being able to handle light washes of watercolour before warping it pushes all of my other sketchbooks back as my most used sketchbook.
